Save with SIP
SIP Trunks provide major cost savings, by connecting to the public switched telephone network (PTSN) via the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP).
The advantages are:
- Lower cost connection, line rental fee and call charges compared to ISDN services.
- Per second billing on calls, so you only pay for what you use.
- Keep your landline numbers and handsets and potentially enjoy higher definition call quality.
- Add additional call capacity easily
- If a link dies, we can route your calls to a recovery site or to one of your mobile numbers.
SIP Trunks offer superior functionality to ISDN, with potential savings on call costs and line rental.
SIP Trunks allow your business to retain existing phone numbers*, PBX and handsets.
SIP Trunks are also a simple, cost-effective way to prepare for the introduction of unified communication features into your business.
Unified Communications provides video calling, mobile integration, soft clients and other features in a hosted environment.
WHY VPNET SIP TRUNKS?
Cost savings: Your business benefits from the more affordable connection, rental line fee and call charges than compared to traditional ISDN services.
We charge you for what you use: per second billing on calls^.
Highly Scalable: As your business grows, additional call capacity can be quickly added, and in much less time than the traditional ISDN services.
Failover to a redundant site: if a site is down all your calls will be delivered to a redundant site
Business Continuity: alternative routing in emergency situations – in the event that calls are unable to reach your site, calls can be redirected to your nominated mobile service.
Number Portability*: Number ranges are not tied to SIP Trunks so numbers can easily be assigned across a customer’s sites or rapidly relocated.
24×7 support desk: Our team of dedicated professionals support the SIP Trunk service.
CALL CHARGE TYPES
Local calls: Calls to fixed line phones within the same area.
National Calls: Calls to fixed line phones not within the same call area.
Fixed to Mobile: Calls to mobile phones within Australia.
International: Calls to other countries, fixed or mobile phones.
Special numbers: These include 13, 1300, 1800, Directory Assistance and others.
COMPATIBLE PBXS
We interface with all major PBXs. Contact us to confirm the compatibility of your particular PBX brand and model or ask for a quote on a new telephone system.
LOCAL NUMBER PORTABILITY
Vocus will port all your landline numbers across from your existing voice carrier*. This provides business continuity with all existing contact details.
FAILOVER OPTIONS (BUSINESS CONTINUITY)
If a link to a site is down, your voice network will instantly route all incoming calls to a recovery site. This ensures that all calls are delivered to a customer designated site (as long as there is adequate capacity at the recovery site).
ENHANCED ENTERPRISE TRUNKING
For customers using SIP Trunks at multiple sites, if concurrent calls exceed provisioned capacity at a site, we provide the option to deliver excess calls to any one of your other sites, so long as there is capacity within the contracted number of concurrent calls.
Calls in and out across the multiple trunks can have various policies applied including but not limited to Overflow (added capacity in peak times) and Load Balanced (for optimum redundancy and failover support).
NON-INTERFERENCE WITH PBX FEATURES
SIP Trunks do not interfere with established PBX features such as call forwarding, hold, group pickup or voicemail.
These services operate as normal through the existing PBX or Key Systems. Please speak with your Vocus Account Manager regarding interference of specific features.
